ABOUT MEI've spent the last 12 years advising, managing and mentoring start-ups, non-profits, SMEs and Fortune 500 companies in the Americas, Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. Notable businesses include Visa Europe (now Visa Inc.), KKR and Deloitte. Presently, I'm based in Belgium working for imec.istart, one of the top pre-seed accelerators in the world as the internationalization officer, supporting early stage tech (software & hardware) start-ups and scale-ups to successfully enter into international markets. Prior to Belgium, I worked 5 years in East Africa (Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda) with Brioche, 1000 Hills Distillery and Grameen Foundation's TaroWorks.
In my free-time, I work on creating business opportunities for African & Africa focused start-ups & SMEs via OVO, Seedstars and a consultancy I co-founded, Stepchange Africa. To date, I've worked with high growth, VC backed start-ups, facilitated more than 800,000 EUR in debt financing in the last two years at OVO, led masterclasses on internationalization for leading Africa based accelerators and worked alongside European Trade & Investment Institutions to facilitate business opportunities in East Africa.
